How to practice footwork for double game?

Hi Jay,

The main thing is to stay as close to the central position as possible when it isn't your shot... but make sure you give your partner enough space to play their stroke.

One way I start players off is to get them to hit two shots and then move right around their partner.  As they get better with this you can cut it down to one hit each.  Keep the ball quite slow to start with so that they get some consistency to practice the movement.  Then as you start to get the idea of the movement you can focus on the movement out of the way rather than all the way around your partner.  This could mean moving to the side or right around depending on where the ball is and where your partner is.
