Firstly, thanks so much for your incredible lessons - I have learnt so much. One thing though - I'm now in my 70s and a lot of players over here (UK) play very regularly within an organisation called U3A. The thing is, all the games are 99.9% doubles. Do you have any skill/technique/tactic videos or recommendations you could give when playing doubles?

Many thanks

Kind Regards

Brian

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the kind words about the site.

We do have a doubles strategy tutorial in the Doubles Tactics area which is currently for our Premium members.  I will see if I can get that changed so that Free members can access it also.  I think it is one that could be useful for you.

Tactical Planning

Spin, speed and placement are the 3 things you need to focus on when coming up with your tactics against each of your opponents. Start with the serve and your third ball attack. Figure out what type of serve your opponent finds most difficult. Find out where is the best place to direct your first attack. Is your opponent better at blocking with their backhand or forehand? Does your opponent prefer a faster topspin or a slow spinny topspin? Do the same for your returns.

That's very kind of you Alois - I rave about pingskills to our group of players all the time!

Would be great if you could put Double Tactics for Free Members Alois.  I am in the same situation as Brian.  I organise weekly training drills with the Seniors group at Manly Senior Citizens using a robot and based on your videos that I get from YouTube, such as Counter Hit, and so on. Whatever PingSkills videos I am able to get from YouTube, we use as the basis for the weekly training, Forehand and Backhand. They are all extremely helpful, and it is good to get Aussie material!
