Hi Alois and Jeff,
Say we have 4 players:
A) Chopper, not so heavy backspin, short, has the occasional smash. Can chop with both wings. Serve is just a sidespin serve. Has a bit of variation. (Chopper)
B) "Passive-aggresive" player, predominantly pushes and does forehand loops (inconsistent). Backhand not so strong. Pendulum serve not bad, has variation. (Pusher/Looper)
C) Direction player. Cannot topspin or backspin. Tries to smash, but inconsistent most of the time. Placement is really very good. Push (aggressive push) is also very good. Serves a regular topspin (slow) serve. ('Direction' player)
D) Blocker. Forehand topspin inconsistent, serves a sidespin serve that goes out of the table. Backhand flick is not bad. Main weapon is counterattack when he blocks the ball back onto the table with quite a bit of speed. (Blocker)
So assuming we are choosing 2 players to play doubles together, which would you choose? Which two do you think are better than the other two? Thanks! (If you are the player I am talking about, no offence, sorry)
Just asking for your opinion :D
Hi tim,
Put the chopper with the blocker and the other two together.
The blocker will be good at coping with the topspins that come off the chop.
The other two should be able to combine well enough as well.
