Strokes
I heard the term "dummy loop" on some table tennis blog that I can't quite recall. It had a vague definition and I couldn't quite grasp the concept. What is it?
Hi Sawyer,
It is basically a loop that has less spin on it. So you make the action like a normal loop but hit the ball very flat so that you don’t generate spin on it. If executed well, it can be very deceptive with the opponent putting the ball into the bottom of the net because they are expecting more spin and speed on the ball.
Other names for it are the “Breadmill" or the "Baby Elephant Loop".
Which term do you like best?
The backhand block is used to counter a topspin stroke. Once you can return your opponents attacking strokes, you will take your game to a new level.
