And this Friday the students will have to do a sports tryout, there is badminton, softball, basketball, football and of course table tennis. So I am thinking if I show the students how challenging spin can be. More people may join table tennis. Do you think it is a good idea to play at my level to promote table tennis to newbies?

Hi Jasper,
Most people like to feel like they are good at playing first. I think using too much spin initially can be either good or detrimental depending on the person. Make sure the new players feel comfortable first being able to hit the ball on the table. If they show a real interest and are wanting to know more then show them spin and your ability so they see what they can start to achieve.
