I was going to order yasaka mark V rubbers for my racket as suggested by you 2 months ago on a question I asked.

But the problem is apart from the rubbers costing a lot (which is okay) even the glue costs 900 rupees (where the rubbers are 1500 rupees!). I searched for other table tennis glues and I could not find a cheap one.

Cant we use normal fevicol or other ordinary glue for attaching the rubbers? What is special about these water based glue? Can you suggest me some cheap glue. I dont want to spend a ton on a stupid glue. X(

Hi Chandrachur,

It is best to use proper Table Tennis glue.  If you don't you will find the rubber will either not stick properly or stick too hard and you won't be able to remove them when you want to.

Hi Alois,

Okay, if it does not stick properly then it will be a problem. But if I use strong glue that may stick it permanently and I dont want to further change the rubbers in that blade, then is it okay to use strong glue?

I guess so.  It may still adversely effect the bounce of the rubber.

alois, incase feviquick is an only indian product; it is the rough equivalent of superglue. lol.

If it is, then it is probably not 'legal' as those glues are not VOC free ...

azhar bhabha, it is working fine for me till now. And I dont want to change rubbers on that blade any more, if I need I will buy new racket when this one gets old.

FYI, VOC glues are legal, as long as you don't use the bat in competition before the VOC vapors have dissipated (and the boost effect is lost). Letting your bat breathe for about 2 days after gluing should be enough.

Hi mukherjee, u have done a very big mistake . Every rubber of a TT racket must be changes at intravels(2-3years). U most know that no rubber is permanent and I have stuck using a super-strong glue which is hardly impossible to remove the rubber again. After few weeks , u will find some defect in ur racket's rubber. As aprofessional player and a good maintainer , I suggest u to use water glue , which can be stuck anytime after 10-20 mins and is removable. U can do nothing except buying a ne racket ......sry to say.
