how can I get the ball to land close to the net and really wide on the table using the forehand loop.

Hi,

This is difficult to do but if you slow the topspin down it is possible.  The ball needs to get over the net and then down again quickly as there is not much table space to land on.

If you add some sidespin this can also help to get the ball really wide to your opponent.
