Strokes
hi alois and jeff,
of late ive been practicing fishing a lot. it works pretty fine. but sometimes wonder whether im doing it right? what would be the ideal height in your opinion to trouble the opponent enough? (i usually do it at a height just a little more than a block) alsoare there any variaitions to this shot that could be useful in getting them out of place?
thank you!
HI Shripathi,
This is a good thing to practice, but make sure you don't do too much of it in training because you may tend to find yourself falling backwards naturally during a rally. While it is important to be able to do something from there, it is not ideally where you want to play a rally from.
You can do quite a lot with your variation from there. Try higher and lower as well as depth variations to make it more difficult for your opponent. The height you are talking about just above blocking height can be a good standard height which will worry players that don't feel comfortable when players are fishing.
