Focus of Attention on Serve

Serving

Where do you focus your attention on the serve?  Do you focus on where you want the ball to bounce first, or do you focus on where you want the ball to land?  When I focus on where I want the ball to land, I often miss my first bounce spot and drive the ball to close to or into the net.

Hi Robert,

You can do either in training depending on what you want to change.  If you are finding that the first bounce is not in the right position then focus on this in particular.

In a match situation, then just focus on the ball and where you are aiming the serve and what type of spin you are wanting to generate.
