Hi. I got problems with the forehand flick, smash, and all the fast hits with forehand. I've practiced all the hits in over 3 months but i still can't hit the table. Do i do something wrong or what? Maybe you can give me some tips?
Thanks in advance,

Alois Rosario

Hi,

Without seeing your stroke it is a little  bit of guess work.  Focus on the techniques.  Make sure you are doing this well at slow speed first and then progress slowly.  Always go back and forward between slow and fast until you get it right.

As Alois said, it is hard to give advice without seeing your stroke.  However, speaking from personal experience, I feel my attacking forehand shots have improved recently with more awareness of my stance and weight shift.  It is common for beginners to think of a stroke purely on the basis of the arm only.  But start thinking about it as providing the power and platform with your whole body.  Open your stance a bit, and get that weight shift from left to right foot.  You might find (like me) you simultaneously improve your consistency, power AND spin.  :o)
