Hi Danny,

The best thing to clean your racket is just a little water on a cloth.  Wipe down the rubber.  The cloth doesn't have to be too wet.  The rubber should only stay wet for less than a minute.

It is important to get the dust off the surface.  If this doesn't help the rubber to get more firiction, then it isi probably time to get new rubber because it has a limited life.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
