hi:)i own a butterfly gergely blade with mark 5 on the forehand and butterfly tackiness for backhand...i'm findin it difficult to hit topspin since i have switched to gergely...is it normal?or is it that gergely is too fast to hit topspin and better suited for flat shots?if so then wil changing to soft rubbers help?which rubbers do i prefer for both forehand and backhand?i'm an offensive player both ways... please do answer as my game is stuck coz it...thanks!:)

Hi Murugesh,

The Gergely blade is quite fast which may make it more difficult to get more spin on the ball. I would persevere with it and just try to soften the contact on the ball, more of a brushing action.  If you find this doesn't work you can change your blade to something slower.  The rubbers you are using are slow enough already.

You could also just get Mark V again.

Hi Murugesh,

You certainly can use either of these. The main thing though is to pick a good rubber and then stick with it for a period of time. It's important to have consistency with your equipment so you can focus on improving your technique.
