Receiving
Hi Alois and Jeff
One of my friends that I play with him he generates a lot of sidespin and also backspin on the ball and I wanna know how can I return it.
Thanks good luck
Parsa
Hi Parsa,
The main thing when returning spin is to use the angle of your racket to return the ball.
If they have sidespin you need to angle your racket to the side to counteract the spin on the ball. Then to counteract the backspin you need to tilt your racket backwards so it is facing upwards. If there is a combination of the two spins then you need to angle your racket to the side and also upwards to get the ball to go back on the table.
We explain this in detail in our Introduction to Receiving section in the tutorial on Receiving Principles.
