Serving
How can I improve my High Toss Service?
Hi Vince,
The first thing is to make sure that your toss is straight and consistent. You can practice this without hitting the ball. Put a target on the floor and see if you can throw the ball up and land it on the target.
Then it is a matter of getting the timing right with your serve. One common mistake is that players tend to hit the ball from too high. Make sure you let the ball drop to waist height before contacting it. Then the other principles of any spin service apply... brush the ball on contact and brush it fast.
