Hi !

I once ask pingskills about this service that makes the ball wiggle at air, it may sound funny, but there is like 2 contacts made in the service, the ball hits the rubber twice in different positions, and is fast, and it makes the ball wiggle, yes it is true! You can try this but is really hard, but the real question is, is it illegal to serve like that ?

Hi Tyrone,

Hitting the ball twice intentionally is illegal.

You will probably find that they are just hitting the ball once but there is an illusion that they are hitting it twice and it is going in different directions.

Doubles Serving Rules

In this video we go over the somewhat complicated rules of serving for doubles in table tennis. There are a couple of extra rules for doubles that you don't apply to singles. In doubles you always serve from the right hand box diagonally to your opponent's right hand box. Each player has 2 serves each. If you've just been receiving then it's your turn to serve next.
