What Material Is Table Tennis Bat Edge Tape Made Of, And Is it Important to buy bat edge tape or could you just leave the bat as it is

Hi Hamzah,
I'm not sure what the exact material is. It is not an essential piece of equipment and does not affect the performance of the bat at all.
