How to know if my paddle is suited for competitions?
Is my DONIC SCHILDKROT PERSSON ok?
Pls help me.
By the way, thank you so much Alois for the tips in serving , i'm getting use to it.
Hi Reuel,
Against topspin your safest option is to block the ball back. You could also try and counter attack by using a topspin (also known as a counter loop).
Against backspin you can either push the ball back defensively or you can attack the ball by topspinning it.
For sidespin you can either counterhit the ball or topspin it but you need to cater for the sidespin. The easiest way to do this is to angle your bat a little as you are playing the stroke.
With regards to your bat, I have never used that. Donic is a good brand though. You just need to remember to replace your rubbers once they start losing their grip and you can no longer generate as much spin.
Let me know if this helps you out.
If you are an aggressive player you still will have times when your opponent attacks first. In these situations you can try to counter attack and this is easier if you are a step back from the table. In this video we teach you how to recognise when to take that step back and how to do it. Hopefully this will get you into a good position to make that counter topspin. Good luck!
