What is the best way to return a serve where your opponent serve a quick pendulum serve towards the good areas which is around the corners. I have failed to return such a serve many times. And even if I return it, my opponent just smashes it to where I cannot reach. Is there an effective way to return such serve?

Hi Joel,

Firstly the best idea is to be able to attack them with a topspin.  Since they are long serves they should be attacked.

If you can't get into position to attack, then work on your placement.  See if you can get the ball back low and to their weaker side you will have a chance of getting into the rally.
