Serving
Hi guys,
First of all, congrats on the christmas version of the logo, very cool!
I've been doing some serve practice sessions recently.
I've worked on pendulum, backhand from middle of table and tomahawk variations. From each position, roughly 4 variations.
That means i have 12 different serves to choose from.
At my relatively modest level, a lot of serve variation can be challenging for the opponents, however, the more advanced the opponent the more selective one has to be.
Do you recommend that i work on all my serves as i develop and use wide variety in games? Or should i narrow in on certain serves early in my development?
Thanks for your take on that!
Cheers from Switzerland,
Jakob
Hi Jakob,
Yes I like the Christmas logo too.
I think what you are doing now is fine. You have 3 main serves and you vary the position and spin on the ball. Eventually you may even get it down to one or two serves. However for now, keep trying the serves you are using.
Keep us updated on how you are going with them.

Will do!
The immediate impact of intense serve practice and vast variation has been to throw off and challenge opponents at my level (i've only been playing 3 months now). It's given an immediate edge.
And it will surely help to nail down the ones to use against better players who attack more or less every ball!

Yes you will get more used to the return that is coming and be able to read the return well. This will help your 3rd ball. Until then keep experimenting to find the one that really suits you.
