Training
How do I play a shot consistently to almost the exact same spot? Is there any tips with which I can achieve this? Because every time I try it there will be a lot of gap between the place where the ball bounces. Is there anything like bat angle or something?
Hi Vishal,
The best way to practice this is to put a small target on the table and practice trying to get closer. Start with a bigger target and as you become more accurate, change it to a smaller target.
The key is the angle of your racket but this will adjust naturally when you have a target on the table.
When you are doing it focus on the ball rather than the target. The target isn't moving but the ball is.
The push is an important part of Table Tennis. It is a defensive stroke which you use to make it hard for your opponent to attack. This week we give you a number of pushing drills and even incorporate some pushing games into the session for a bit of fun. We continue to work on your serve and in this session we concentrate on your placement.

:) I really like this simple reminder Alois. All too often when I mishit a stroke, even in training, I realise I was looking at where I thought the ball was going (the result) rather than at the ball itself (the contact). Every time I correct that, I strike the ball well and it goes where I intended, without me having to look there. It isn't an easy habit to break though.
