Hi,

My name is Maisam and I just started playing Table Tennis about 5 months ago. I am currently trying to learn how to create sidespin when serving and hitting the ball. Can you just send me some info/instructions or tips on how to create sidespin on the ball

 Thanks

Hi Maisam,

To create sidespin you need to brush cross the ball. The brushing action will get the ball to spin.  You can try standing back from the table and hit the ball to the other end of the court.  See if you can get the ball to curve in the air.  This is the same action you will need to generate sidespin.  Once you feel comfortable getting the ball to curve, try moving closer to the table and doing the same.

Persevere with it and see if you can get that action.  It may take a little while.
