Strokes
Dear coach............. i dont watch the ball closely......... even dont watch it when i am hitting it with the result that a lot of my strokes are inaccurate.... can u suggest any drills to improve my anticipation?
thanks
Hi Huzaifa,
Improving your watching of the ball will help you with your anticipation.
In training spend some time just working on watching the ball. This will start to improve your focus and anticipation.
How is it that a player can always seem to get back those extremely fast topspins? Is it their incredible anticipation? The key to good anticipation actually lies in tracking the ball well. When you watch the ball closely your peripheral vision will pick up your opponents movements and with lots of practice those signs will help you anticipate what your opponent is going to do. This happens naturally with lots of experience. So it it your job to ensure that you are tracking the ball really carefully.

Thanks can u also give some tips on how to observe opponents body movements to deduce where he will place the ball?
I think it is better to watch the ball rather than the person.
