Hi Maro,
There are lots of different options with serves to get the side topspin happening.
You can use a variety of types of serves such as the Pendulum, Tomahawk, Backhand or others.

Variation of Spin
Varying the spin on your serve makes it harder to return. You can vary the type of spin but possibly even more effective is varying the amount of spin.
