Tell me please, how can i win against the opponent that have a good block?
Yuriy
Hi Yuriy,
To play against good blockers you need to be able to vary the speed and spin on the ball. The hardest thing for a blocker is to play against a slow spinny ball. However if you only play slow and spinny they will soon get used to it. So your best tools are variaiton of speed, spin and placement.
Work out which side is their weaker block and play more balls to that side. Often th slower spin can through out their timing. Blockers like to use your pace to outposition you so if you don't give them too much pace they may struggle. Also if you can get the slower topspin to land closer to the net. This forces the blocker to move in to block which can be an awkward ball for them.
The sixth building block of table tennis is playing in competitions. Training is essential, but applying your skills in a pressure-filled match is where real growth happens.
Competitions challenge you to perform under stress, adapt to opponents, and sharpen your decision-making. By getting involved in match play, you’ll gain valuable experience that helps you improve and build confidence on the table.
