One of my opponent surprised me with an amazing serve. The his serve after bouncing near the net on my side of the table, went back across the net on his side. I couldnot stop laughing .... I want to know, is it a legal serve???

It sure is legal.

As you get a little better this will be an easy serve to return. that is why you don't see better players doing it.
