Is it legal for your racket to pass over the net

Occasionally you will see a ball bounce back over the net without being hit.  Since you would loose the point if you didn't hit the ball, this prompts me to wonder if someone with long arms, or who was able to move to the side of the table, might have their racket pass over the net while hitting the ball.  If so, would that be legal?

Hi Bill,

Yes your racket is allowed to pass over the net as long as it doesn't touch the net.  You can move around the side of the table to get to a ball that is dropping short and even going back over to your opponent's side.
