Hi Vivek,

That sounds like a good combination.  I would keep using it, you will get used to the speed and it will be a better quality than your current bat.

Just work on your control more over the new couple of weeks.  Do a lot of consistency drills and you will start to get a feel for the new bat.

hi, i have joola carbon blade with mark V rubbers, i am beginner/intermediate player. with this new bat my game is totally spoiled, i am not able to go for my top spin shots - i was usually very good with top spin shots earlier with a beginner level bat. quite confused. need help -  feeling discouraged and frustrated.

is this because of the stiff blade, i think its an OFF+ blade?

appreciate a response and help.

Hi Ashish,

It may be too fast for you.  You can adjust to it.  Work on your consistency over the next few weeks.  Just concentrate on hitting the ball slowly and try to keep the ball in play.  Even if you are hitting the ball with really simple shots that is OK to start with as you get used to the speed of the bat.

Otherwise, you can go back to a slower bat.

Thanks Alios for taking my query and responding promptly. I will try as you said to keep the ball in play and get used to the bat.

Is it possible to replace the blade to a slower all-round one and use the same rubbers? i had put in lot of money for this bat:(

Any slower not too expensive premade you can suggest in India.

too anxious to get this right. Thanks sir.

Regards

Ashish

Hi Ashish,

You could go for a slower blade but as you said it gets more expensive to buy something new.

Give the blade a try for a while.

I don't have a particular suggestion.  Others may.  The blade we have is the PingSkills Touch which would also be suitable.

i started playing again with a beginner bat - GKI Kung Fu DX and amazingly all my top spin attacks specially on back spin push returns fit perfectly on the table. Of course i have to put lot more energy with this bat compared to joola + Mark V which had so much power.

Strange isn't it? a professional bat and i am not able to do that :(

I want to understand what exactly could be the issue - technically. is the blade too stiff for my style?

Rgds

The slower blade will give you more control.  Faster isn't always better.

Sir,

I have a joola carbon with mark V on both sides.  I have been using it for over an year and now the red side is dying.  So I wanted to ask you that should I change it with another mark V or is there some other rubber that will be better suited for the blade.  I am an intermediate player.

Regards

Hi Apoor,

I would say you could try a Yasaka Pryde or something similar.  This will give you a little more speed.

I have Joola carbon plus blade, I need suitable rubber which make bat lighter and provide spin and attack. I usually play spin and sometimes attack. Please suggest the rubber.

The Mark V is quite light.

Hi coach,  can you tell me which combination is better:

Joola o carbon with mark v or Tibhar carbon shot with mark v,  and also can you tell me the pros and cons in both the cases?
