Hi Praveen,

You can make another topspin off the chop.  You will need to lift the chop with a more vertical stroke on the forehand topspin.  The chop could have quite a lot of backspin on it so that is why you will need to have a vertical stroke to lift it over the net.

It is best not to try to smash this ball as the backspin will drag it into the net.

Take a look at our lesson on the Forehand Loop Off Backspin

Forehand Counterhit

The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:

  1. Your feet position
  2. Your start position
  3. Your finish position

If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.

Use more vertical stroke and get a bit of speed through the stroke with your bat moving up fast.  You need to make sure you are getting that brushing action though.
