Hi coaches , i have got a fast loop but it has not much spin. Also i find it hard to play fast loop off backspin. Is there any way i can add bit more spin yet retain my speed especially against med. Backspin thankz.

Hi Shripathi,

If you follow the steps of how to do a Forehand Loop Off Backspin you will be able to make the stroke effectively.  The important thing seems to be the contact for you.  Make sure you are getting a brushing contact on the ball to generate the spin.

If you are doing the stroke correctly you will find that you will be able to increase the speed by just moving faster through the stroke.

Strawberry Flick

The strawberry flick is the opposite of the banana flick and involves utilising the wrist to get the ball spinning with topspin and sidespin. Used in conjunction with the banana flick it can be very deceptive. The banana flick is a more reliable stroke and that's why you see more top players using it over the strawberry flick.

Yes if the serve is long then make a similar stroke.

Is loop the same as topspin?

Yes we use these terms interchangeably. A loop describes how the ball moves when you have topspin on it. The topspin drags the ball down so the flight path looks like the start of a loop.
