Strokes
hi Jeff,
would you tell me the difference between loop, high loop and drive?
HI Hamed,
A loop is the name given for a stroke where you lift the ball a bit more vertically. The high loop is an exaggerated version of the loop going higher over the net with more spin and less speed.
The drive is a forehand counterhit. You can see this demonstrated in our lessons.
In this video, we dive into the forehand push, a crucial defensive stroke in table tennis that allows you to control rallies with effective backspin. We break down the three key concepts—start position, feet position, and finish position—to help you execute the stroke with precision. You'll also learn how to adjust your bat angle to generate varying degrees of backspin, depending on the spin your opponent imparts on the ball. Finally, we'll guide you through practical drills to enhance your proficiency and consistency with the forehand push, ensuring you're well-prepared for your next match. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your technique, this tutorial will provide you with the tools to master the forehand push.

There are a lot of players using high loop (second bounce vertical) all the time. High loop is also used for return service. I did a search but I did not find a video showing how to do high loop and how to hit high loop. Could you help?
Hi Paul,
Here is a lesson on how to do the shot. Slow Spinny Topspin. Also a lesson on how to counter it. Counter a Slow Spinny Topspin. Hope these help.
