Hi, Pingskills

For some while I am playing with LP, Tibhar Grass, 1,5mm. I am getting used to it, but there is a problem bugging me constantly. What ever serve my opponent throws at me, I return without any problem, except pure backspin. When I try to push it, the ball just pops out. What can I do, how to cope with that, what do you suggest.

Hi Sasha,

When they play a backspin serve you need to push through the ball flat and fast to get the ball  lower over the net.  If you push the ball it will be an easy attack for your opponent.  The stroke is a flat push.  You can also attack the ball like it would have topspin on it.

We have a lesson for our Premium members on this type of stroke in our lesson on LP Attack Against Backspin.

Banana Flick

The banana flick has become one of the most important returns in table tennis. It allows you to attack almost any short ball and places your opponent under immediate pressure. Still it is a difficult stroke that takes a lot of practice to master.

Yes, that looks fine and logical. But, what about long backspin, how can I perform against that with LP?

You can do the same.  Hit through the ball or you can attack the long backspin ball like you are making a topspin stroke.
