Would you mind explaining to me how Ma Long does his backhand? I've watched some vidoes but have failed to apply if effectively in my game...

In the 2nd one, he seems to be using much more arm compared to the first one. What do you think coaches?

I think the backhands are the same just from a different angle.
This is a very efficient backhand. He doesn't use much wrist at all with this stroke. It is more of a controlled stroke. To get it to that level just needs a mere 10,000 hours of training!
Just focus on the basics with the stroke. The start and finish positions and groove them so that it becomes more automatic.
