Hi Coach,

I m silver level player regarding your bifurcation of players status.

My match strategy is that when ball is on table then i play counterhit and then ball comes out from table then i play topspin. Is it technically good strategy or i have to change.

My question is that how can i choice to play topspin or counterhit.

Hi Ahtesham,

Your thinking is quite correct.  If the ball only bounces once on the table then you should look at playing a topspin.  If the ball if short ( more than one bounce) you can play a push stroke if the ball has backspin or you can play a flick or perhaps a counterhit.

Always look at playing an attacking stroke to start with against an opponent.  If they are very good at blocking then you may need to change your strategy.
