Hi Joseph,

What you should be aiming for when serving is to change your serve slightly each time so your opponent doesn't get used to it.  Try to generate maximum spin by brushing the ball as fast as you can.  The important things are the contact of the bat on the ball and the speesd of the contact.

Take a look at our Serving Secrets Revealed DVD to help you to improve your serves and generate the maximum amount fo spin.

Unfortunately there is no such thing as a serve that your opponent will definitely not be able to get back.

If anyone does the same serve to you 10 times in a row, no matter how good the serve is, you should be able to get it back by the 10th try.

The better players will get it back on the first try, less experienced players will get it back on the 5th try and the beginners will get it back by 10.  It also depends on how often your opponent has seen the serve before.

It is always a matter of adjusting the angle of your bat to return the ball correctly onto the table.
