Mental preparation for a higher league

Mental Preparation

Hello Alois

This year I will be playing in a higher league. Having a look at all my contestants they are all at least two rankings higher qualified than I am. So, I'm kind of nervous to start playing. What mental advice could you give me to be able to win matches anyway.

Thanks a lot for a few tips and tricks.

Henk

Hi Henk,

Think more about the way that you are playing.  If you can focus on playing well then you don't need to worry about who you are playing.

If you are playing against stronger players it is a great opportunity to get pushed and improve your skills.  So don't focus on the result but on the improvement of your skills.
