how can i improve the way i play the game mentally

These will help you out.
The main thing is to understand how you are feeling during the match and recognising when you are starting to get nervous. The next step is to have some tools to use to get yourself back to a state where you can play your best.
The other thing is to realise that you will start to feel nervous at different times and accept that.
