How to execute a forehand topspin with some mixture of a smash?

Hi Gio,

This brings up an interesting point.  Names are just names for the strokes and we don't have to get too caught up with defining the strokes into categories.

It sounds like you are talking about a faster topspin.  There is no clear line between strokes sometimes. To make the type of stroke you are talking about, just contact the ball flatter on the forehand topspin and it will start to look a little like a smash.

Countering a Chop Block

The key is to countering a chop block is to ensure you wait for the ball as it comes through much slower compared to a normal block. You also need to lift the ball more than you would against a regular block.
