Hi,

i am finding it hard to concentrate on my movements. As in, i get confused on where to distribute more of my weight, right or left leg ?

i try to bend enough and distribute a larger part of my weight onto the right foot ., is it right?

plus its confusing on where to place legs during top spins as various top players follow different styles.

Please help me out.

with regards

GHAZI

Hi Ghazi,

Take a look at our lesson on Footwork Basics.  This will show you the balance and movement that you should aim for.

Often players look different but they will all be balanced at the time of contacting the ball whenever possible.  At the point of contacting the ball, the weight should be evenly distributed on both feet.

Fake Movements

After the ball has left the server's bat, they can no longer affect the spin that is on the ball. Any movements after the contact are referred to as fake movements and are meant to confuse you as the receiver. You need to focus on the contact to read the spin.
