Mr. Predictable

Strategy

Hi Alois,

Though I work hard on my game, I continue to lose to the same players. They say my game is predictable, so it's not hard to beat me.

What they mean is that I move quickly away from the table soon after the service.

What can I do to surprise them?

Hi Paul,

Try to stay closer to the table.  It will give your opponent less time to react.  It also decreases the area you have to cover.

Do you feel more comfortable away from the table?  If you do, try staying a little closer and see if you can start to cut down the time of your opponent.

You don't have to do much when yo are closer.  Shorten your stroke and just block the ball back.  It sounds like that would surprise them.
