Multiball service practice

Hey Alois and Jeff,

I was thinking about investing in a table tennis ball pack, about 3 dozen 1 star balls for service practice.

Will it make a difference when I practice service using 1 star balls and serve with a 3 star ball in a match?

I ask this because I do notice a slight difference when playing a rally with a 3 star ball as opposed to a 1 star ball but 3 dozen 3 star balls would be a monetary overkill :)

Hi eric,

You are right, there is a difference in the feel of the different quality balls.

In the ideal world we would do all our training with the best 3 Star balls.  However money needs to be considered.  I use the Yasaka Training Balls.  They are excellent for their price.  When you are playing matches you can have a couple of 3 Star balls in your bag to use.
