Strategy
Hi Alois and Jeff,
Recently I joined a local tournament here. I advanced to the second round, and I had analyzed my next opponent. His serves are strong and hard, so when his opponents' return them, the ball goes high up in the air then he easily executes the ball with some smashes.
How I anticipate this kind of opponents? Should I do some backspin serves, so he can't do the smashes?
Thank you
Regards, Archel
Hi Archel,
Also focus on the return of serve. Try to keep the ball lower and also use some variation on your returns. Even a slower return sometimes can be effective here. Don’t allow him to settle in to a pattern with his 3rd ball.
On your serve use a lot of variations again to keep him guessing all the time.
