Equipment
I recently purchased a new stiga titan racket when i opened it there was a sticky plastic covering the rubber im assuming to protect it. my question is after i use the racket would it hurt the rubber after i put it back on?
Hi Michael,
Rubbers often come with some kind of plastic or paper covering. The coverings themselves are not normally sticky though. The rubber itself is sticky and hence why the plastic will stick to it. If the plastic itself is sticky I would be less likely to put it back on the rubber as protection. However with the normal coverings people do often put it back on their rubber before it goes into their bat case. This won't hurt the rubber.
I don't think it really adds much protection to placing your bat away in a bat cover though.
There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
