Hi Alois and Pingskills

in the last months i started to lose a lot of smashes when the lob is too high, now we are in a new gym and we can practice the high lob, and i loose all that smashes, i don't know why, i never had this problem, what i can do??

Besides i am still having troubles with the control of my backhand block, a lot of balls go direct to the net, but if i open the angle of my racket, the ball goes out of the table...what i can do?? change my blocking position?? closely the table??

Please help

Thanks

PD: all the problems in the question that i asked to you i resolved it, Thanks Pingskills

Hi Cristh,

It is great to hear you are working through your skills.

One of the ket things to making an effective smash is to get into a good position.  Take another look at the lesson on the Forehand Smash.  While the ball is in the air, take the time to move your feet into position.  A lot of players are mesmerised by the ball and stand still while the ball is in the air and therefore when it comes to playing the shot they are out of position.

For the backhand block, try to hit the ball from slightly higher, thinking about the top of the bounce as a good hitting point.  This will give you a better line from the hitting point to the table.
