Serving
While watching youtube videos of pro table tennis players, I ran into an odd service motion. I like to call it "The Frog" because of it's odd bending and action. Kenta Matsudaira is the player in question. Is this serve effective? Is there a purpose to this action? Can you do anything on your serve as long as it follows the rules?
Thanks again... sorry so many questions.
Hi Rj,
Yes has an awkward action. This is also called the tomahawk serve. He gets low so that his bat is in a low position while still being able to swing through well at shoulder or head height.
The service rule has a lot of parts to it however acting like a frog is still OK! :)
