How do you feel when the opponent misses the serve? For me I will be pretty glad because it's a free point.
Hi Jasper,
Well it is a point to you... Doesn't let you play the game though...
How do other readers feel when your opponent makes a mistake on the serve?

Somewhere between relieve and disappoint

I wonder why top players can miss the serves sometimes...

It is because their opponents use a lot of disguise with their serves and also there is a lot of pressure to return well otherwise the server will make a strong ball on the next shot.

Against much weaker opponents I sometimes even allow them to repeat the serve as a new ball (because I usually win the point regardlessly)
Against only a bit weaker opponents I feel like "well....ok then"
Against equal or a bit better opponents I feel like "fffuuuuuu" (sigh of relief)
Against much better opponents I feel like "WTF he made an error"
What annoys me much more though is,when I do a serve error and my opponent starts "cho"ing, not mentioning cases where some fans of my opponent start to cheer him after my mistake, making it look like he is responsible for my mistake.

If my opponent were to "cho!"me when I do a serve error,I will be very annoyed

I noticed that timo boll misses his short pushes quite often...

He also makes a lot of them. The short push needs to be exact, if it is a little high or long then it will give the advantage to your opponent.

The same reason explains why pro players sometimes do a serve error.
Along with a fact that no person is flawless.
