Hi Alois how are you? My question is this how do you learn to concentrate better and keep your patience in a game. If someone is very hard to attack and they constantly force you into an error. How do you be patient and play with control?

The key is to let them make a mistake and give you a free point or sit it up so you can hit the winner. This is easier said than done i sometimes find it hard and lost my patience. I don't always lose my patience but still do on occasions and that has cost me, a few games over the years.

Is it a mental thing, physical thing or a skills thing. Or is it all three things put together. Any tips-drill or anything that can help us pingskillers in this area Alois? Throwing away points gives your opponents confidence. Thanks for your help Alois.!!

Hi Justin,

I think it a combination.  You need the skills to be able to get the ball on the table consistently.  You also need to mental ability to concentrate for a long time.  As long as you have the technique right, the main differences between hitting the ball on once and hitting the ball on 1000 times is concentration.

In training, practice more consistency.  Aim to get 1000 balls on the table in a row.
