Hi Pingskills, i've just try to practice my serve you said that it's better to make a short ball and also you said it need a fast brushing action to make a lot of spin. But what happen to me is the ball will be long if i make the ball short, the ball don't have a lot of spin so, what should i do to put a lot of any spin on the ball and make it short please for the answer :D thank you.

Hi Frendy,

This is why we do need to practice this skill a lot.  This is what happens at first when we are learning.

This makes the game all that more interesting because it isn't easy to master.

Keep working on getting the fast fine brushing action.

Variation of Speed

Varying the speed is different from varying the length. You can have a fast short serve and a slow short serve. You can also have a fast long serve and a slow long serve.

ive try to brush it fast from the edge of the bat but it only move a bit for the sidespin and for the backspin, it didn't come back and it's easy to attack
is it about the rubber ? my rubber is yasaka mark V and it seems like don't have a lot of spin on it...

It isn't about the rubber.  Just keep practicing the technique.

Hi, Frendy.

Somewhere in the website (can't recall the address), I found that the swing speed isn't all you need to produce force. Force is mass times acceleration (F = m.a). That's right, acceleration.

Once I had the same issue with you in my spin serve. I used the fast moving motion with minimal acceleration in my pendulum, and I had less spin than I expected. Then I changed my swing to a fast-accelerating-chopping motion to add heavy chop. In this way, my opponent feel the spin of my serve.

To do a short serve, focus firstly on making the ball land precisely in the center of your table. Also, try to serve from ideal height, slightly above net level.

Cheers! :D
