Peak of the bounce

Strokes

What is the perfect time to hit the ball of to the opponents side of the table? I noticed that sometime when we hit after the ball has bounced with that nice and slow hang time, it will end up rather in the net, or too far off the table, and when we hit straightaway, the results are often different too, but our strokes completely change, like our forehand becomes a little more wristy(more wrist forward applied to get the ball down). I really am confused..

Hi Nicholas,

The ideal time in general is at the top of the bounce.  That means when the ball is at its highest point.  This gives you the best opportunity for doing a variety of strokes and hitting the ball faster.

I see.. thank you very much.. But would it ruin my oncentration? For example, I'm thinking whether or not to backspin, but I also have to look at the peak of the ball's bounce..

This is something that you ficus on during your training time.  When you are playing a match you are right, you don't have time to think about the peak of the bounce.
