Serving
hey Alois and Jeff, this is Shrinath.
I'm playin TT for around 5 years , and these days my pendulum serve are returned with a topspin. Being close to the table i cant return it.
Do you think pendulum serves need some amount of backspin ? Or else how would i do an effective pendulum serve ?
I'm a right-handed player.
Hi Shrinath,
The best thing to wrk on here is to get your serves short on your opponents side. By short we mean that the ball will bounce at least 2 times on their side. You also need to make sure the serves are low. This will make it difficult for your opponent to make a topspin.
Backspin will also help you here but the first thing is making sure the serve is short and low.
to get the ball shorter you can have the same action but just brush the ball finer. this will make the ball have less forward momentum an so will go shorter on the other side.
