Hey J and A !
What should be the perfect time to make an attacking stroke or even an aggressive topspin?
I often find my self hurrying into playing attack strokes which cost me points  .

          Hi Samuel,
In generally you want to try to be the first player to attack. If you are finding that you are making errors with this, then slow it down slightly and get more consistency on the stroke. Lift the ball with more topspin and higher over the net to give you a better margin for error.
So try to attack at the first opportunity but just make it more consistent.

may be you may choose a bat/rubber that is good for top spin (or higher throw angle)
